Before glass arrives: handling, storage and processing checks

Protect edges, arrange suitable racks and dry storage, and confirm processing limits before unloading or workshop handling.

Handling & installationEdited by MINGANSite updated: 2026-10-02

Prepare access and storage before unloading

KINGUARD’s public handling post emphasises protection before installation. Plan equipment, access and storage around the size, weight and packaging, and obtain product-specific handling instructions from the supplier. Suitable racks and space should be ready before the delivery arrives.

Protect edges and keep storage dry

Protect edges and corners from impact and abrasion. Use suitable non-abrasive racks and store upright at a slight inclination as directed for the product. Keep conditions dry and avoid unsuitable contact or support. Follow supply instructions for rack, inclination, stacking and exposure limits rather than assuming one universal value.

Confirm processing limits before work starts

Different glass build-ups may require different treatment. Do not assume fire-resistant glass can be cut, drilled or further processed. Confirm any proposed work with the supplier in advance and check how it affects identification, dimensions and the applicable configuration. Document and report damage before deciding on the next step.

Project review checklist

  1. Confirm dimensions, weight, equipment, access and storage in advance.
  2. Follow product instructions for edge protection and dry storage.
  3. Confirm product-specific suitability before cutting or further processing.
